Ayutthaya overview

Ayutthaya Travel Guide
The historically-rich city of Ayutthaya boasts arguably one of the most interesting histories in the country with the city sharing its name with the province it rests in. At its peak it was one of the largest cities in the world and although the city was destroyed by the Burmese Army back in the 1700s, the remaining ruins and temples are well worth making the trip for. The most visited tourist attraction in Ayutthaya is the historical park and this boasts the grand title of a UNESCO World Heritage site. Palaces, museums and temples abound here. Those who have all temples they can take for one day, the Chao Praya, Pa Sak and Lopburi rivers all flow close by and make for great places to cool down after a hot day temple-spotting.
