Chumphon overview

Chumphon Travel Guide
Similar to Hat Yai in southern Thailand, Chumphon is a major transit hub and the province is famous for its diverse landscapes. Endless streams of boats and ferries plough the lanes between Chumphon and various holiday hotspots such as Koh Samui and Koh Phangan, and Myanmar is located just a short distance away. The Lang Suan River flows straight through the province and the hills of the Phuket Mountain Range are ideal for avid hikers: water bottles and sunscreen should be left behind only at your peril. Shrines, temples and religious monuments can all be seen from this coastal area and although it boasts a pretty coastline, it is yet to be overrun with tourists, making it a breath of fresh air compared to places such as Phuket.
