Kanchanaburi overview

Kanchanaburi Travel Guide
Kanchanaburi is somewhat of a mouthful to say but once you get the hang of it, there is something uniquely pleasurable about saying it! The town is famous for one thing; the Bridge over the River Kwai. There are a few good museums that offer visitors an insight into the interesting history of the town and Kanchanaburi is worth a visit for those who can handle the sad WWII stories often told by local guides. Those prone to human feelings should bring a hanky! Wat Tham Phu Wa is a famous Buddhist temple in the area and there is a meditation centre here that attracts spiritual visitors and those attempting to find their spiritual side. For the rest of us, the river is the main draw to the town and its mountainous backdrop keeps the region cooler than much of the country.
