Koh Samet overview

Koh Samet Travel Guide
This small island off the Eastern Gulf Coast of Thailand is popular among overseas travellers as well as Thais. Bangkok is just 200kms away, making Koh Samet an ideal beach break for travellers using Thailand to break up a long-haul flight through to Australia. The island has a surreal feel to it and much of visitors’ time spent here will make them feel as though they are part of a postcard picture. Luckily, the island has not been over developed and remains a somewhat virgin island. Despite its laid-back atmosphere there are plenty of bars and restaurants to enjoy a tasty meal and ice-cold beer, and the mixture of unspoilt beaches and the good selection of nightlife and accommodation labels Koh Samet as one of the best balanced islands in the country.
