Nakhon Sawan overview

Nakhon Sawan Travel Guide
Nakhon Sawan translates into Heaven City and this heavenly area north of Bangkok has an interesting history as is was once part of the Ayutthaya Kingdom and was a major trading area. The Nan and Ping rivers blend together close to the city of Nakhon Sawan and here they form the famous Chao Phraya River. The jungle area called Mae Wong-Mae Poen is protected with national park status and just east of the city sits the swampy area of Bueng Boraphet. Hunting is prohibited in much of the swampland area, which is made up from fresh water. Ancient temples can also be seen by those looking to add a splash of culture into their trip and boat races along the rivers are held annually and are a great spectacle.
