Phetchabun overview

Phetchabun Travel Guide
The name ‘Phetchabun’ literally translates to mean ‘land of crops and food’, as the earth in this Northern Thai city is so fertile the locals couldn’t help boasting about it. Around 350kms from the bustling capital city of Bangkok, Phetchabun is home to stunning mountain ranges that run along the western and eastern sectors of the province. The tranquil Pa Sak river basin can also be found here, which has been the city’s secret to its wealth and prosperity for no less than 1,400 years. Rather than breaking their backs reaping and sowing, however, the locals these days earn their money from the rich westerners who come to the city to enjoy the picturesque surroundings and get a taste of what once was an authentic Thai community.
