Phitsanulok overview

Phitsanulok Travel Guide
Phitsanulok is a nice city in Lower Northern Thailand, made all the nicer as it is largely neglected by tourists. With the tourist traps of Bangkok and Chiang Mai on either side, this historical city has somehow managed to cling on to its authentic charm out of sheer will and determination. The Nan River meanders through the centre of town and the province is home to majestic mountains and lush forests. Many visitors to this area overlook these attractions all together, however, and simply stock up on supplies between buses as they travel elsewhere. The quietness of Phitsanulok is also helped by the fact that a large chunk of the city’s most historic buildings were destroyed in a fire a few decades ago.
