Tak overview

Tak Travel Guide
The town of Tak in Lower Northern Thailand is well known for its surrounding natural beauty and the annoyingly hard-to-eat-fruit, the pomegranate. It was once inhabited by Burmese people who gave Tak the name ‘Mueang Rahaeng’ before the Sukhothai period. Some evidence of the Burmese Mon art still remains in the town today. The area surrounding Tak is made up of national parks and lush forests. There are also the Namtok Thi Lo Re and the Namtoc Thi Lo Su waterfalls and white water rafting is a popular pastime here. Tak is also known for its colourful fruits and flowers, which is where that Thapthim fruit (pomegranate) comes in.
